5 Star Industry Review: “Take it from me, an ex-pat Aussie living in Canada: Travel Rangers: Mission to Australia by Erika Bud is “bonza”! What? Oh, forgive me. I just got carried away thinking about the reactions of youngsters reading this delightful book and hearing some Aussie “lingo” (words) for the first time. Bonza, by the way, is an Australian word for terrific, a most appropriate word to describe the content, colors, presentation, and experience youngsters will enjoy as they turn the pages of Travel Rangers: Mission to Australia. This book is the first of a series designed to help primary school children learn about countries other than their own. To my surprise, even this old ex-pat learned something she didn’t know about her homeland…I cannot praise Travel Rangers: Mission to Australia enough. Erika Bud has found a superb way to help youngsters learn about other countries, especially with the inclusion of AR technology..and lesson plans for teachers.”

5 Star Industry Review: “[This] book gives a growing child a strong sense of adventure and perhaps a new realization that the world is vastly filled with wonders and diverse people with different cultures and different animals all to be discovered someday. I lived in Australia for one year myself and this book capsulizes the experiences of this magical country. I also enjoyed the characters the author created of children of all sorts as they experience all the new wonders of this amazing country. This ingenious author brings out the most spectacular sights and animals such as the Great Barrier Reef, Koalas, and much more. As I reviewed this book, it reminded me of the oft-quoted saying, “It’s a wondrous thing how the wild calms the child” and I felt this author is on the right track to help children think outside the envelope to help them succeed in their lives. All in all, I felt this book is very high quality and professionally well done and I highly recommend it to everyone just to give your children a sense of the wonders that are out there and great things to dream about that may probably come true for many as they mature.”

Travel Rangers: Mission to Australia is a great book for kids who are curious about other places. The Rangers guide young readers through a variety of interesting facts about Australia. The illustrations are inclusive and engaging including an added feature where readers can have the pictures come to life as they are reading the story. The book does a great job of highlighting the uniqueness of Australia while giving kids the opportunity to connect what they are discovering to their own lives. It is a great way to introduce readers to new places!

[The] book series is definitely something I could see using in my classroom. The story and illustrations are engaging and educational. It would make for an entertaining read-aloud. I really like your idea to include lesson plans for us teachers! That makes it so much more appealing to use. From my observation, the lesson plans align perfectly with the CCSS (common core state standards) and would be easy to integrate into an ELA lesson or series of lessons.

Mission to Australia is a beautifully written treasure! Through very descriptive writing and beautiful illustrations, this book is brought to life. It makes you feel like you’re in Australia; you can see the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, the fun of encountering different animals or try different food and be a part of the characters facing their fear. It taught us all something new about Australia and now my kids can’t wait to visit Australia in person. As a parent, I love reading to my kids but it’s so hard to find good books out there that are age-appropriate, a little educational and also engage my kids’ attention. “Mission to Australia” has all that and more! It should definitely be a part of every child’s book collection.
